Love, Truthfully
By Harrison Pyros

A funny thing
Love.
How some will do
Anything
Just to feel it
Only once.

An addicting thing
Love.
How some will try over
And over
To receive it,
Even after
Their own heart had been
Shattered
Time and time again.

A fantastic thing
Love.
How it can erase
All worries
With its warmth,
In the midst
Of doom.

A false hope
Love.
How your love
Rejects you
And yet, you think
There might still be a chance.

And behind the veil
Of what love really is.
Behind all the hearts
And flowers
And happy endings,
Is the truth.

Love is a
Liar
A drug
A temptation
A disease
And blind reason.

Love is not lovey dovey
Kisses.
Nor dancing in the rain.
Love is a twisting, confusing
Web of lies and deception.

Love is not heaven,
But hell.
